Robert Parker notes 87 for Chateau Sainte Barbe 2006

From the Wine Advocate..March 2009

Robert Parker stated in his last comments of the 2006 vintage
"...as reported when I first tasted the 2006s from the barrel, there are many fine wines especially from the top terroirs, but also from the over-achieving smaller estates continue to push the envelope and try to undermine the image that Bordeaux is only about limited, very expensive wines from historic classifications..."

2006 Chateau Sainte Barbe
This attractive, inexpensive sleeper of the vintage from Bordeaux's lowest pedigree surprisingly black currant fruit intermixed with a roasted herb character. Medium-bodied with a supple texture, silky tannin, and abundant spice, it can be enjoyed over the 2-3 years.
